Saint - "Revelation" Single Review

“Another SUPERB representation of Chicago based Metal.”

The One-Man Metal act Saint (Nicholas St. Peter) from Manteno, Illinois has returned with another massive single entitled “Revelation”! This track is a step-up from Saint’s last release “Accessory To Murder” to say the very least. Packaged up into three minutes and forty-one seconds, this song perfectly embodies what truly makes metalcore great. With bone-chilling breakdowns, face-melting riffs, thunderous drumwork, and shrilling vocals, “Revelation” will leave you at the edge of your seat waiting for Saint to make their next move.

The track opens with a classically-styled riff reminiscent of early As I Lay Dying or August Burns Red that quickly and effortlessly transitions into a breakdown, truly setting the mood for the rest of the song. Utilizing minor scales and aggressive vocals we can sense that Saint is out for blood this time around.

As "Revelation” unfolds, it’s as if each verse is even more brutal than the last. The classic rectifier-esque guitar tones perfectly paint the mix with crimson intent. Overall, the mix for this track is raw, yet crystal clear. Saint does so well to bring us back to the roots of Metalcore. As the track comes to its conclusion, we are left hanging on a drawn out note and a lurid scream that builds to a cathartic drop. We ride out this last breakdown as it runs itself to one last crushing verse that ultimately drops without giving us any warning or goodbye. It’s safe to say that this is another SUPERB representation of Chicago based Metal.
