Luna in Sanguinem - "Global Bloodbath" (EP) Review

Updated: May 26, 2020

Luna in Sanguinem is a four piece extreme death metal band from the Illinois and Wisconsin border. Over the course of five months, they recorded their brutally slamming debut album "Global Bloodbath" that is a brilliant mix of everything heavy, brutal and deadly.

This read is a bird's eye view of the heaviness and gore, but you will want to check this album out for yourself.

"Angel Wings" begins with feedback, then immediately changes by kicking you in the face with rough vocals and distorted guitar, the deep drums pounding underneath. The black metal influence can be heard within the carpal tunnel inducing riffs, but the groove is undeniable and will have you banging your head. The blisteringly fast guitar solo completes the song, adding another layer to the ordered chaos to fully polish the song.

"Far From the Light" doesn't waste any time setting the tone, smashing drums and deep guitar blasting through your speakers. The vocalist does a great job articulating each word he screams, allowing you to comprehend the gore and brutality of the lyrics. Shivers are sent down the spine during the end of the song, the half chanting/ half screaming of the words "far from the light" will be engraved in your memory for a long time to come.

If you are a fan of anything fast and heavy, this album is a must for your collection.
