Q&A Session With Two Sides Of Me (Goode, VA)

Updated: Oct 18, 2019

Hello Two Sides of Me! First off I wanted to thank you for taking the time to conduct this interview for The Metal Experience! The Midwest cannot wait, so let's dive in!

What Does Your Band Name Mean?

It's open to interpretation. For us it's the thought that everyone has two sides to who they are: what the public sees vs. who they truly are, and all the thoughts and feelings they internalize.

Who Are Your Biggest Influences?

Periphery, Blessthefall, Underoath, A Day to Remember, Bilmuri, Architects

How Did You Meet?

Blind Date

What's the Craziest Thing That's Happened on Tour?

After performing out in Bonaparte IA, our van and trailer got stuck in the mud. Once we finally got it out with the help of some nice people and a 4x4 truck, we got separated from our friends in Of Brighter Skies while on the way to Minnesota. After Tony got car sick, we realized we needed gas, but it was the middle of the night so almost all the gas stations were closed, and we almost ran out of gas. Thankfully we made it through without being stranded, it was a long night for all of us.

How's the Tour Going?

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to drop off the tour we were on, however we are still using the time we have, to work in the studio on recording new music. We are, however, still performing August 3rd in Madison, WI with Archers and

Of Brighter Skies on August 4th in Lynchburg VA.

What's Your Songwriting Process?

Usually someone brings a song or an idea to the table, and then we sit down and give our input on any possible changes. We work through all the parts and practice it as we go, sometimes improvising riffs after sections we already have written and working our way through the song that way.

Who Do You Sound Like?

That's a tough question to answer because we write and play a wide variety of musical genres, but we have been told by some of our fans that we sound like Underoath or A Day to Remember. Joe from the Get Low Podcast has said we're "like Fit for A King but better." We disagree with his assessment.

Thank you again! This conducts our interview. We look forward to hearing you on our station soon!
